First Memories and a Reminder

While listening to TARDIS Tara’s semi-live Comic-Con reports Podshock Episode 157, and reading and hearing various other reports on the Doctor Who panel, one comment really stood out in my mind. That was Julie Gardner’s comment on what made her fall in love with Doctor Who. She reported that the first story that Russell showed her when they started work on the series was the Season 17 story “City of Death”, and from that moment she said she has been a confirmed fan.

Who York Events

Thanks for the welcome to the blog so far! This installment is a little bit more newsy than opinion - but rest assured I have more opinions to come!

Listeners to Podshock episode 157 will hear Jarrod Cooper, the chairman of the Hurricane Who convention (http://hurricanewho.com) taking place in Orlando, Florida from Friday October 30 - Sunday November 1 2009, mention a new endeavour taking place in New York City associated with DWNY - Who York.

Plans are still being made and will be revealed here shortly, but our first event is expected to be in November, 2009. If you bookmark http://whoyork.com you will see that we are already putting some preparations in place.

Doctor Who: Podshock - FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

How can I play AAC files on my non-iPod player?
We have two feeds, one is the enhanced podcast AAC format that will play in any device or software that is compatible with the AAC format (this automatically includes all Apple products such as the iPod, iPhone, iTunes, etc.). Enhanced podcasts include chapters, images, and URL links. They also support higher quality audio without increasing the file size. Our other feed is a plain MP3 format feed which should work in just about any device or player.

Gallifreyan Embassy Website Regenerated

Once again, the Gallifreyan Embassy website has regenerated. This is sort of the Jon Pertwee version of our site (give or take), as it is essentially our third incarnation of the website.

This new site is still being developed while our previous site remains operating and functioning as it had been since the last regeneration (2005). Eventually, we will migrate here as our default site while keeping the previous site as-is for archival purposes.

NOTE: If you have an existing account from our previous site, it will need to be re-created here.

While content is being moved to and being developed here on our website 3.0, please access our previous site for the past four years worth content.
