Share Your Stories and Thoughts on Our Elisabeth Sladen Celebration DW Podshock Episode

Last April we suffered a huge unexpected loss in the Doctor Who community and beyond. The death of the beloved actress, Elisabeth Sladen. Almost immediately following it, DWP Correspondent-At-Large, Colin (AKA "Abersoch") contacted me about putting together a special episode of Doctor Who: Podshock to celebrate Elisabeth Sladen and the Sarah Jane Smith character.
We had just started our series of live shows reviewing the new Doctor Who episodes from the spring 2011 series while Colin and I were discussing what we could do for a tribute. We couldn't record it then. Now that we are in between the spring block and the late summer/autumn block of new 2011 Doctor Who episodes, it allows us to record this celebration episode.

Sarah Jane Adventures Official Press Release. The Rumours Stop Here.

The BBC released this on the Doctor Who Website earlier today.
"Contrary to press reports today we can confirm that no new episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be filmed following the tragic death of actress Elisabeth Sladen in April, 2011. As a tribute to Elisabeth the six episodes that were recorded with her last year will be broadcast on CBBC at a date to be confirmed."

Tom Baker Reflects Back on Lis Sladen and Sarah Jane
Today marks one week since the unbelievable news broke that we lost Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith) to cancer. The BBC had dedicated this past Saturday's transmission of Doctor Who: The Impossible Astronaut (the premiere episode of the new 2011 series) to her and afterwards there was a 12 minute piece on CBBC titled, My Sarah Jane: A Tribute to Elisabeth Sladen which if you saw it, I'm sure it didn't leave you with a dry eye. In it, many of her co-stars spoke about their time working with her including David Tennant and Matt Smith. The day after she passed, another Doctor actor had his say as well.
Tom Baker, the 4th Doctor in Doctor Who shares some of his memories and feelings after the passing of co-star, Elisabeth Sladen last week.

Tom Baker Newsletter | Latest news | Lis Sladen | Sarah Jane: "Sarah Jane dead? No, impossible! Impossible. Only last week I agreed to do six new audio adventures with her for Big Finish Productions.

Elisabeth Sladen Has Passed Away. I'm Devastated and Stunned.
Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith of Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures) has died at the age of 63 I am so sad to report…

I was stunned and dismayed when read the news of passing of Elisabeth Sladen today from a tweet from Gallifrey One. I am at a lost for words. This news came to me very unexpected as I am sure it does for all Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Adventures fans. I don't know what to say at this point. Writer Paul Cornell and actress Nicola Bryant have also confirmed the news by tweeting their sentiments as well. BBC News has also confirmed it in a short statement (now a full obituary).
Sarah Jane Adventures (Series 4) Teaser 'Trailer' Video
Watch the latest teaser 'trailer' video for series 4 of The Sarah Jane Adventures coming to the CBBC next week (11 October 2010). Along with Elisabeth Sladen and the regular cast members, you will see Matt Smith as the Doctor in it as well in this promo video.

Sarah Jane, The Doctor, and Jo Grant Return in October
According to various (unconfirmed) reports on the net, the new 4th series of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be returning to the BBC and CBBC on Monday, 11 October 2010 (with part 1 of The Nightmare Man by Joseph Lidster).
It is unclear whether the new series is back to one episode a week or will it be similar to last year which transmitted two episodes a week. Remember, each story takes two half-hour episodes to tell in The Sarah Jane Adventures. The BBC had commissioned two new series (24 x 30-minutes episodes), this is the first of the two (12 episodes telling six stories). No details as of yet pertaining to this series outside of the UK.

It Was 25 Years Ago Today, The Gallifreyan Embassy Began…
It was a quarter of century ago today, as hard as it is for me believe, is when the Gallifreyan Embassy began. Unbeknownst at the time, it was the day after the Discovery Channel was launched. It was also the day after the launch of the space shuttle Discovery (STS-51-G) which marked the first Arab and Muslim in space (payload specialist Sultan bin Salman bin Adulaziz Al Saud). Yes, it was 1985. Ronald Reagan was in the White House, Commodore launches the Amiga personal computer while NeXT is founded by Steve Jobs after leaving Apple Computer.
Just two weeks before we went Back to the Future in the theaters, the Gallifreyan Embassy of Long Island officially began.

It's Party Time on the Sci-Fi Party Line Podcast
Last week I had the pleasure of being a guest on the Sci-Fi Party Line podcast. I was invited to come on episode 39 of the podcast hosted by Cat ( @fancyfembot ) and Eric Escamilla ( @Bullitt33 ) (we just had Eric on with us in Doctor Who: Podshock 169).
In it, we discuss The Sarah Jane Adventures episode, The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith which guest stars David Tennant, the preview clip of Dreamland (the new animated Doctor Who adventure), and the upcoming Doctor Who special, Waters of Mars. We even ponder on the upcoming new series starring Matt Smith with Steven Moffat. Plus we touch upon Torchwood as well in this episode.
