Doctor Who Anime Featuring the 3rd Doctor - Final Version [VIDEO]

This video has been in the making for some time now as I have seen various earlier incomplete versions of it over the last few years now I believe. Originally created as a mock trailer by OtaKing77077 (on YouTube) has expanded into a mini-episode. Because it was originally meant only as mock trailer, it lacks some narrative. It is done in the style of 1980's anime featuring 1970's Doctor Who mostly (it is a 3rd Doctor Jon Pertwee story). It features many original voice clips of various characters from the series as well as some original vocal work. Almost every iconic aspect of 1970s and some 1980s Doctor Who is depicted here except K9 perhaps.

For some reason the video had been pulled from YouTube, someone else had posted it again in the above.

Reign Of Terror DVD Gets Animated

This time around it is my absolute pleasure to announce something classic series related. The DVD release of 'Reign of Terror' will have missing episodes 4 & 5 animated, in a 'Invasion' similar style.

New Year - New Video: The Wheel... In Space, No One Can Hear You Scream

Every year, for the last few years, just in time for the holidays, 'TardisTimegirl' releases an animated Doctor Who related video on YouTube. A holiday treat for all Whovians. Last year, it was the immensely popular, '2001: A Who Odyssey' in which she combines the classic 1968 Doctor Who serial 'The Wheel in Space' with the film '2001: A Space Odyssey' which was released the same year. So when the holidays rolled around this year, I checked her YouTube channel and was disappointed not to see any new animated shorts for this year's holiday season. So I was surprised and delighted to see that a new short was released over the New Year's Day holiday.

Once again, using the 2nd Doctor story, 'The Wheel in Space' as the backdrop, she poses the question of what would a trailer look like for it if the once BBC set designer, Ridley Scott (who later went on to direct Alien among other films) made it? What follows is another awesome computer animated (CGI) trailer for Doctor Who: The Wheel in Space done in the style of 1979's Alien film by Ridley Scott. Thank you, 'TardisTimegirl.'

Turn off the lights and watch this in full screen mode. Enjoy!

2001: A Who Odyssey (video)

1968's classic science fiction film, 2001: A Space Odyssey meets Doctor Who: Wheel in Space of the same year. Classic stuff.

According to the YouTube description by TardisTimegirl, it was made in Lightwave by Steve Skinner.

Dream Dates

DreamlandThe animated Doctor Who adventure, Dreamland starring David Tennant as the 10th Doctor will be shown daily starting on Saturday, the 21st of November 2009. The six episode animated series will be shown on the BBC Red Button and the Doctor Who website (most likely locked down to UK visitors only unfortunately).

Being billed as "Doctor Who meets a 50's monster B-movie," the mini series is written by Phil Ford and takes place in the USA (ironically as of yet there has been no announced dates or releases for US fans for this animated series), Area 51 (in Nevada) known for its alien lore. The Doctor finds himself in Dreamland, a secret base in the US which leads him on a mission to rescue Rivesh Mantilax from the threat of the Viperox as well as the American military of course.

Here is a clip of the upcoming Doctor Who animated story, Dreamland starring David Tennant as the 10th Doctor.

David Tennant and Georgia Moffett Reunite in Doctor Who: Dreamland

DreamlandAs reported yesterday, the BBC has released the first image from the upcoming animated story, Doctor Who: Dreamland which is scheduled to be broadcast later this year.

Earlier this week we had the pleasure of interviewing the director, Gary Russell for Doctor Who: Podshock (stay tuned for future episodes featuring his in-depth interview) who spoke to us about this second outing of an animated 10th Doctor adventure. Gary had also directed The Infinite Quest which also starred David Tennant as the 10th Doctor along side with Freema Agyeman playing Martha Jones.
