Here's an update on the ongoing storm recovery:

I have a computer workstation setup now for me to record and edit while my place is being gutted out and made inhabitable again. I haven't tested everything out yet, but I suspect I should be able get work done. The biggest roadblock now is carving out the time that is required. Demolition of my place won't start until I clear everything out of it. So after fifty-some-odd days of clearing out waterlogged destroyed belongings and trapped sewage water in my place, now I have to clear out all the rest (the non-damaged stuff) so the floor, walls, ceiling, etc. all have to be gutted out and replaced. This task falls upon me. Since storage space is limited, I also need to take care (and time) to maximaze every inch while packing up. I also need to trash any remaining furniture that may have mold and trash belongings that I no longer want which I have no space for in storage.

I had hoped to have the episode 282 of Doctor Who: Podshock (recorded just prior to Super-storm Sandy) out by now. It is slowly going through post production now, but it is taking longer than I hoped because I am doing so many other things at the same time (relating to recovering from the storm, not to mention my sister being hospitalized).

Just as Doctor Who: Podshock is celebrating it's 5th year in production, Research In Motion (RIM) has launched its new free Blackberry Podcasts service and application. Among the initial offerings of podcasts included is the popular venerable Doctor Who: Podshock. The new service allows Blackberry smart-phones to find, download, and consume podcasts on the mobile device from leading providers. Content can be downloaded via Wi-Fi or over the cellular network and played on the Blackberry player.

We are very pleased to have Doctor Who: Podshock included among other shows part of the Wizzard Media network on the service as part of their launch. We look forward to listeners from the many Blackberry users out there across the world.

After five years producing Doctor Who: Podshock it is still just as exciting today to discover new audiences as it was when we started. We look forward to them being a part of the show.

We welcome RIM and Blackberry smartphones to the popular and rapidly growing podcast medium.

As you probably already know, in the US, we are currently in the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. It is a time when many stop and give thanks and express our appreciation for what we are grateful for in life.

Therefore, this posting is an opportunity to express my thanks to everyone that has listened to and supported Doctor Who: Podshock over the years. That in all likelihood means everyone reading this post.

I thank Ken Deep and James Naughton who have been there since the very beginning, as we would not be where we are today without them. They volunteer their time and efforts on an ongoing basis to bring you the show you know and love.

The Association for Downloadable Media (ADM), a non-profit organization serving podcast producers, is seeking information on consumers' attitudes of advertising within podcasting. The ADM is looking for audience attitudes and reactions to things like ad style, delivery and placement. The results of this survey will allow podcast producers to best fulfill the expectations of their audience as they pertain to advertising and their reactions to it.

Doctor Who: Podshock has been making convention appearances over the last four years which have drawn in crowds. These events give an opportunity for convention audiences to interact on a live recording of the show. Doctor Who: Podshock has appeared at conventions on both the west and east coast of the U.S. Most popular among them are the Gallifrey One conventions in Los Angeles, CA. 

A live show adds excitement to an event and brings in additional people that may not have otherwise gone. Plus, the event will gain added exposure since we promote our live appearances on episodes leading up to the event and the recorded live show at the event serves as an ongoing promo for annual or reoccurring events (i.e. Gallifrey One or I-CON). 

Well here's my first 'Gallifrey blog' as I've been fairly busy.

As many of you who listen to the CIA podcast Ian 'The Sixth Doctor' and I have decided that after quite a few months of keeping CIA going - without really being able to push it forward - we are going to start our own podcast on Talkshoe.

Since I came up with the term we are going with the name Cultdom for this Talkshoe podcast - Talkshoe ID 54821

We will still run on Sunday (for some parts of the world early Monday) but at a later time of 3.30PM EDT.

This is so that we are clear of Podchock LIVE when it is up and running during Doctor Who Series 5 and also means that CIA under West can continue - should he so choose.

After chatting Ian and I decided to carry on with CIA upto and including Episode 100 (this is after a slight re-numbering that cleared out 0 minute shows.)
