Matt Smith Found!
The last couple days, Doctor Who: Podshock Correspondent, Tara Wheeler @TARDIS_Tara has been on the hunt for Matt Smith who is in the US currently shooting Doctor Who in Utah for the upcoming new 2011 series. Matt Smith also appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Tuesday.
From this photo that Tara has posted to her Tumblr blog, it appears she has found what she was looking for today. Somehow I am not surprised. When Tara has a goal set in her sights, there's very little that can come between it and her. She hasn't checked in with us since as of yet and I haven't caught up with her Twitter feed yet, so I don't have the details just now, but the photo seems to have been posted about 2 hours ago.

Matt Smith May Be Hot, But He Can Get Cold
It seems that not only 8th Doctor wants a costume change, Matt Smith (the 11th Doctor) is reported stating that he would like some changes in his costume. Specifically, a warmer coat, perhaps in addition to his tweed jacket.
As for a hat, he said he wanted a hat back in April when he was in New York for the premiere of the 2010 series of Doctor Who. So this comes as no surprise. We already know that fezzes are cool.
Television - News - Matt Smith wants 'Who' outfit changes - Digital Spy: "'I know I want a coat,' he said. 'You get cold in only a tweed jacket. And I want a hat. Not all the time. Just now and again. It feels Doctory and right for my Doctor. I think it can evolve and give it that variety.'

Doctor in the USA!
So this started off as a rumour on Friday, and according at least to BBC America is going to happen.
A collaboration between the BBC and BBC America sees a filming block taking part in the US, Utah to be a little more specific, according to press, the Doctor, Amy, Rory and River land in Utah, more than that I shall not reveal because it gets into major spoiler territory. Only I do have a BBC America clip for you.

Awards for Doctor Who and The Waters of Mars
Doctor Who has won Best Family Drama by the TV Choice Awards 2010. Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) and Steven Moffat (Lead Writer and Executive Producer) were there in person at the ceremony Monday evening hosted by Alexander Armstrong (voice of "Mr. Smith" on The Sarah Jane Adventures).

This comes on the heels of another award granted to Doctor Who, this time a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation (Short Form) for last year's Doctor Who special, The Waters of Mars(Amazon US link).
Out of the handful of Doctor Who specials transmitted last year, I enjoyed Waters most.
Paul Cornell was at the Hugo Awards ceremony presenting an award.
Congratulations all around!
Short Preview for Sarah Jane Adventures Series 4 (video)
To go along with the reported start date for Series 4 of The Sarah Jane Adventures (see Sarah Jane, The Doctor, and Jo Grant Return in October), there is a very short video preview for it as well:

Sarah Jane, The Doctor, and Jo Grant Return in October
According to various (unconfirmed) reports on the net, the new 4th series of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be returning to the BBC and CBBC on Monday, 11 October 2010 (with part 1 of The Nightmare Man by Joseph Lidster).
It is unclear whether the new series is back to one episode a week or will it be similar to last year which transmitted two episodes a week. Remember, each story takes two half-hour episodes to tell in The Sarah Jane Adventures. The BBC had commissioned two new series (24 x 30-minutes episodes), this is the first of the two (12 episodes telling six stories). No details as of yet pertaining to this series outside of the UK.

How do you feel about the 2011 series of Doctor Who being two series?

No Daleks For You!

More news coming out concerning the 2011 Doctor Who series (or set of series as it is now) is that we may get a reprieve from the Daleks stories. This according to what executive producer and lead writer Steven Moffat hinted at the Edinburgh TV Festival:
Moffat: 'No Daleks in next Who series' - Digital Spy:
"Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, the Who showrunner admitted that there are currently no plans for the famous aliens to reappear, although work on the 2011 series is not yet complete.

Doctor Who, Series Split.

Steven Moffat announced at the Edinburgh International Television Festival that the next season of Doctor Who will be split. But not like we think of spilt, according to Steven, "The wrong expression would be to say we are splitting it in two. We are making it two separate series." Seven episodes are to be shown up to Easter and the remaining six episodes are to be shown in the autumn.
Karen Gillan: "Anything is Possible in Doctor Who" (video)
We had the pleasure of meeting Karen Gillan (Amy Pond in Doctor Who) this past April (2010) covering the event for Doctor Who: Podshock. Although we were there chiefly to record audio and shot still photos, we did manage to capture some short video of the red carpet interviews (thanks to the iPhone 3GS). This is one.
This is Karen Gillan at the US premiere of Doctor Who (the 1st Matt Smith series) at the Paley Center for Media in NYC speaking of going from her first role in Doctor Who (The Fires of Pompeii) to a full time companion.
