Richard E. Grant has been cast in the upcoming 2012 Doctor Who Christmas special. The news came from a tweet from Doctor Who Magazine today. It's interesting to see an official-unofficial past Doctor actor return to the series. You may recall that Richard E. Grant was the original 9th Doctor in the Scream of the Shalka, a story written by Paul Cornell. This animated adventure was produced prior to the television series being relaunched in 2005. We reviewed Scream of the Shalka not too long ago in Doctor Who: Podshock 267. In it, we discussed Richard E. Grant's portrayal of the Doctor and how Scream was the forerunner of Rose.
Matt Smtih (the 11th Doctor on Doctor Who) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes on Sherlock) presents Steven Moffat (executive producer of both aforementioned series) with his special 2012 BAFTA award.
So that you all don't bored the two part mini adventure written once again by UK school children, is finally here for your Perousal! ENJOY....PS Happy Towel Day.
The first two series of Matt Smith as the Doctor has been recreated in a video simulating an old style (I would say 16-bit) video game running just over 4 minutes long. Be warned, there are spoilers pertaining to the these two series (if you are not up to date).
Thanks to @EoghannIrving for the heads up on this one.
BBC News coverage of the "official Doctor Who Convention" in the UK this weekend interviewing Danny Hargreaves.
Often at the end of each year society looks back at those we have lost in the past year as a memorial. That is what this video does in regards to Doctor Who. This year being especially tough as we lost two performers that played major key companion roles in the series, but every passing is sad.
This video reports on BFI's screening of the two missing Doctor Who from Galaxy Four and The Underwater Menace recently discovered.
If the Prequel (see previous story) doesn't get your juices running for the Christmas special perhaps this interview with Matt will. Though if the Prequel doesn't start getting you excited I quote the 11th Doctor at this point "What's wrong with you?"
It's that time of the year again and we are just weeks away from a new Doctor Who Christmas special. Due to arrive on December 25th on the BBC and BBC America, the new special starring Matt Smith titled The Doctor, The Widow, and the Wardrobe was written by Steven Moffat.
