This video came my way courtesy of our own Tara Wheeler who is actually in this video. No, she is not the one dancing, nor is that her TARDIS which is dancing, but she and her TARDIS are there nonetheless. She quickly takes to safety in her TARDIS when the dancing one enters the room at Gallifrey 20 (February 2009). I know that is what I would had done as well.
While listening to TARDIS Tara’s semi-live Comic-Con reports Podshock Episode 157, and reading and hearing various other reports on the Doctor Who panel, one comment really stood out in my mind. That was Julie Gardner’s comment on what made her fall in love with Doctor Who. She reported that the first story that Russell showed her when they started work on the series was the Season 17 story “City of Death”, and from that moment she said she has been a confirmed fan.
The ever diverse, John Barrowman has hit number 14 in the UK charts for his Barry Manilow cover of "I Made It Through the Rain." The 1980 Manilow ballad is covered on John Barrowman's 2008 album, Music Music Music produced by Simon Franglen and Graham Stack. One of twelve tracks on the album.
See below to preview the song courtesy of YouTube. Note: The song ends at around 4:24, the rest is silence for some reason.

Now that Torchwood: Children of Earth has been televised on both sides of the Atlantic, it is clear that it is a ratings champ all around.
In the UK, the estimated numbers for the BBC showing started strong and maintained its audience throughout the week long series (26.8%). Torchwood: Children of Earth, a five part series was shown consecutively Monday through Friday in the UK starting on 6th of July and then BBC America followed suit showing them on consecutive nights starting on the 20th of July.

Thanks for the welcome to the blog so far! This installment is a little bit more newsy than opinion - but rest assured I have more opinions to come!
Listeners to Podshock episode 157 will hear Jarrod Cooper, the chairman of the Hurricane Who convention (http://hurricanewho.com) taking place in Orlando, Florida from Friday October 30 - Sunday November 1 2009, mention a new endeavour taking place in New York City associated with DWNY - Who York.
Plans are still being made and will be revealed here shortly, but our first event is expected to be in November, 2009. If you bookmark http://whoyork.com you will see that we are already putting some preparations in place.
"Renewed? Have I? That's it, I've been renewed. It's part of the TARDIS. Without it I couldn't survive."

After the Doctor Who panel ended, I hauled butt over to the Sails Pavillion, where my Darlng Husband had run through multiple lines to get me a ticket for the autograph session and saved me a place in line.
There were wild rumors that David Tennant would take part in this session and Murray Gold had hinted on Twitter that he might also take part in it.
But no. Euros Lyn, Julie Gardner and Russell T. came in after about an hour's wait.
Thanks to the DH, I was right up in front of the line and had a moment or two to trade comments with RTD.
Of course, I have my own agenda, and asked him, as he'd just claimed that Four was *his* Doctor, why the BBC no longer distributes Doctor Who Scarf patterns.
He'd had no idea and offered to look into it. I gave him my card.
British actor, Harry Towb has died at 83 on Friday after briefly battling cancer. Born in Larne, County Antrim, grew up in Belfast, and moved to England in the 1950's, has passed away peacefully in his home in London.
Although his career spanned the stage, television, and film with roles in everything from Little Shop of Horrors (stage), The Avengers (TV), and The 39 Steps (film), for Doctor Who viewers, they may recognize him as Osgood in the 1969 story, 'Seeds of Death' with Patrick Troughton or as McDermott in the 1971 story, 'Terror of the Autons' with Jon Pertwee.
Please Note: There will be spoilers in this blog entry if you haven't seen the UK press in the last week, or the reports out of San Diego Comic-Con.
The last week has been a fantastic time to be a Doctor Who fan - and the proof of how great this show is, could be seen in the thousands of screaming fans in San Diego yesterday morning, as the celebrated the coming end of an era - And what a ride that ending looks like its going to be. Frights on Mars with water and who knows what else, and then "The End of Time" itself, with Wilf, Donna, the Master, Timothy Dalton and the last days of Planet Earth!!!! It all looks very dark indeed! Whatever happened to Russell's promise not to scare the kids on Christmas Day??!!!!
I'm so sorry I didn't post this earlier.
I was sooo exhausted and I'm still knackered today.
Sunday was amazing.
I had trouble sleeping and got up at 4:30. I was down at the Convention Center by 5AM.
Out in front of the Con was the 'God Line'; everyone with a pass that wanted in, needed to be in this line.
When I got there, there were about five hundred people in line in front of me. Some were there to get onto the Expo floor, some were there for gaming, some were there for the Supernatural panel, some for other panels and then there were all of us in line for the Doctor Who panel.
When my Husband had come in at midnight, he had gone by to see if a line had started. He saw about seventeen people in line. I spoke to one of these people hours later and she said there had been about five people who started the line at 8PM. So, some people had been in line over 24 hours to see the Doctor Who panel
This promo for the End of Time presented at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend was shot by someone in the audience. The hand-held shaky video uploaded to YouTube by safia43 was then stabilized and cleaned up a bit by colonelbarker to the give you what you see here below. It features an element that would had been considered a spoiler before Comic Con, but now is not as the BBC has already announced it. Hopefully a better version of this promo will become available on the net soon, in the meantime, here below is probably the best version of it on YouTube (catch it while you can).
A returning character and actor to the upcoming Doctor Who specials that until now has been regarded as a spoiler has been officially announced by the BBC. There's no avoiding it now. You will know for sure now as 'the cat is out of the bag' with this announcement. Having said that, we will still let you decide. Click the "Read more" below to find out.
As just reported, the BBC has made a new trailer for Doctor Who: The Waters of Mars available for the UK only. For everyone else, there's YouTube (watch it while you can):
If for some reason it is removed from YouTube, here is the BBC America version of the promo trailer as well:
The BBC Doctor Who website has made a new tailer of Doctor Who: The Waters of Mars presented at San Diego Comic Con available on their website. Unfortunately, it is available for the UK only.
