The viewing figures for Doctor Who's Season 5 penultimate episode, are in for the overnights.

5.9 million watched and thats the combined figure from BBC1 and BBC HD.  In all fairness the football seemed to have been responsible for the low figures.  But as said these are the overnights and don't cout for DVR recordings or iPlayer views, and strangely the episode was the most watched show of the night, with the World Cup on ITV1 only bringing in 5.2 million.  Considering the last couple of performances of the England football (soccer for you North Americans) I thought this episode would have Brought higher viewing figures.  It remains to be seen whether the World Cup will have an similar effect on the season finale next week.
