Hosts of Doctor Who: Podshock

Kyle Jones

Kyle Jones, Host

Kyle Jones has been a long time listener to both Doctor Who: Podshock and visitor to the Gallifreyan Embassy website. After listening to the show since 2007, Kyle first called into the show during the review of the 2010 Doctor Who Christmas Special (Doctor Who: Podshock 232). He spent much of 2012-2013 starting his own blog, HRtoWHO, and connecting with other human resource professionals across the globe via social media. Kyle returned to the live shows as a guest for all but one episode of Series 8 in 2014.

A Grand Celebration of 5 Years of Doctor Who: Podshock

This past Saturday, the 21st of August 2010 was not only our seasonal meet up on Second Life, it also marked the 5th anniversary of the Doctor Who podcast, Doctor Who: Podshock. (We used our last meet up last May to mark the 25th anniversary of the Gallifreyan Embassy).

People from all corners of the world came together to have fun and to meet Doctor Who: Podshock hosts, correspondents, supporters, and other Doctor Who fans. As usual, Victor led the much anticipated TARDIS tours, a staple of our meet ups on Second Life in which he takes a TARDIS load of people to other Doctor Who themed areas of Second Life. This time, he even allowed me to pilot a Jon Pertwee style TARDIS for one trip. It was very exciting indeed.

The TARDIS Tours took us to Who Island which had a replica of Stonehenge with 'underhenge' which we discovered the Pandorica (and it opened)! We also got to see the console room seen in this year's 'The Lodger' episode and as always the tour concluded in the Doctor Who Museum. The virtual museum chronicles all of Doctor Who throughout its long history.

Ian Bisset

Ian Bisset, Host

Tara and IanTara and IanIan Bisset was born and raised in Lower Hutt, New Zealand and until 1988 was a Doctor Who watcher rater than a fan, it took the acting prowess of Colin Baker to start the young man off in his journey to becoming a Doctor Who fan!

By 1991, Ian was established in the Wellington Chapter of the New Zealand Doctor Who Fan Club and attended his first Doctor Who convention (it was one day with no guests an it was held in a school hall). By 1992, Ian was instrumental in organizing DoctorCon 2,

Yet another guest-less convention, but one that got the attention of the New Zealand media due to a typo.

James Naughton

Host, 2005-2011

James Naughton has been a sci-fi fan for as long as he can remember. Growing up in the UK, he spent most of his early years cowering behind the sofa to the Daleks.

Always interested in technology, in early 2005 he started his own podcast, about everything and anything. This lead to involvement in various other shows, such as Rough, Ready and Raw and Doctor Who: Podshock. These days though, he prefers to invest his time podcasting solely about science fiction.

Louis Trapani

Louis Trapani founded the Gallifreyan Embassy (GE) in June of 1985 to serve the growing fandom centered around Doctor Who and other British science fiction during the mid-80s in the US. Originally a local organization with local meetings, today it is international, serving the global community.

In 1989, Louis graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York where he majored in the media arts department.
