Doctor Who: Podshock
Doctor Who: Podshock - The longest running Doctor Who podcast.
This is a quick note to wish all of our listeners of Doctor Who: Podshock a very happy and healthy new year. The past year has been a very trying time recovering from a devastating storm that was Superstorm Sandy. It is delightful that when we came back after a long hiatus, our listeners were still here, still downloading the show and welcoming us back.
How do you listen to audio podcasts? Are you taking advantage of the features of the enhanced podcast format? In other words, accessing the chapters, embedded images and links? The reason I am asking is because all signs point to the fact that Apple is phasing this format out. Their latest Podcast app doesn't seem to support it. Oh, it will play fine, and it will still sound better than the plain mp3 version, but the aforementioned features are absent. Also their latest version of GarageBand has removed the tools to create those features for enhanced podcasts.
November 23rd of this year marks the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. Sure there are specials on television honouring the event including Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor and the docu-drama, An Adventure in Time and Space, but aside from these, how do you plan to celebrate 50 years of Doctor Who?
Will you be pulling out your favourites from your DVD/Blu-ray collection to watch (or downloading/streaming them from an online service)? Perhaps having a marathon of episodes? Maybe you're putting together a theme party to celebrate it with friends?
Or perhaps you're not doing anything out of the ordinary, which is fine, but what does 50 years of Doctor Who mean to you?

Many have been asking about Doctor Who: Podshock and our other ATP shows in the wake of the devastation left by Superstorm Sandy. Recovery continues though our shows should be resuming shortly. I posted this latest blog entry about it. See the link below.
Sandy Aftermath Day 338: It's been "a year from hell" recovering and restoring from the mass devastation which Superstorm Sandy caused. There's still a great deal more to do, though it's getting closer to where a sense of "normality" will prevail while ongoing recovery work continues. This means our shows will be resuming shortly including Doctor Who: Podshock and perhaps a new one or two as well.
