Going Once, Going Twice… Doctor Who Up For Auction!
Here's your chance to own a piece of history or future as it may be in Doctor Who: The Auction at Bonhams. While this is not the first time we have seen Doctor Who props and costumes being auctioned at Bonhams, this has to one of the largest we have seen.
Everything from a Cyberman (left) seen in The Five Doctors to the bus in Planet of the Dead are up for grabs. The auction items are mostly costumes (wardrobe and alien costumes with masks) and related props, be it the 10th Doctor's formal wear from Voyage of the Damned to the Magma beast from The Caves of Androzani. Even the Malus (right) is up for grabs from The Awakening and a Doctor Who auction wouldn't be complete without a Dalek or two. All authentic BBC items used on screen from the long running series.
It is a shame that all of these items are not going into a museum as a collection for all to enjoy. We can only hope that they will find homes that will take care of each piece. Viewings for interested bidders will take place between Sunday 21 February and Wednesday 24 February 2010.
First Three Episode Titles for Series 31
The first three episode titles of Series 31 (2010 series) has been revealed in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine according to a story by Digital Spy today.
Those who may consider episode titles as spoilers, read no further.
The first episode featuring the 11th Doctor is appropriately named 'The Eleventh Hour' followed by the episode, 'The Beast Below.' Both are written by series executive producer and lead writer, Steven Moffat.
The third episode is titled 'Victory of the Daleks' written by Mark Gatiss (writer of the 9th Doctor story, 'Unquiet Dead' and actor in the title role in the 10th Doctor episode, 'The Lazarus Experiment').
Bill Nighy in Doctor Who
As we tweeted a couple days ago, Bill Nighy (Slartibartfast in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)) is to guest star in an episode of Doctor Who according to Digital Spy.
He is playing the part of a curator of an exhibition of Vincent van Gogh. It is episode 10 in Series 31, written by Richard Curtis (The Black Adder, Mr. Bean).
Digital Spy reports that a 'set insider' told them, "It was a real coup to get Bill Nighy in Doctor Who, especially in Richard Curtis's amazing episode. Bill plays a van Gogh expert with some similar fashion choices to The Doctor himself."
It is said that this story is to take place in 19th century France as well as present day.

David Tennant's American TV Project Stalled?
According to a recent blog post on the Entertainment Weekly (EW) website, NBC may be putting the new series starring David Tennant, Rex Is Not Your Lawyer on hold.
We originally reported that the series had been green lighted in November. According to the piece in EW, it was to possibly fill the holes left by Jay Leno's 10pm slot this spring, but now, "the sets are coming down this week" for it according to an EW source.
It stated that NBC declined to comment, but states that the series will remain for consideration for the autumn television schedule line up.

Just a quick couple of bits of housekeeping.
1) FOX is talking to Russell T Davies about doing a script for Torchwood. If there is a US or International Torchwood series, it will be covered in Torchwood This Week section like the existing show.
