If you know absolutely nothing about Series 2 of The Sarah Jane Adventures, and want to stay totally unspoiled, do not read futher. However, if you're happy with a few minor spoilers, based on verifiable facts like well-reported casting information and official trailers, read on. This report contains nothing about any major plot points.
Principal photography on the second series of The Sarah Jane Adventures wrapped last week, according to sarahjane.tv. So, this seems as good a time as any to give a Series 2 news roundup for those who may be going through the early stages of Doctor Who withdrawal:
• Like last year, six hours of programming have been completed. However, this time, all six hours will be broadcast as a single series, meaning that the series will run for 12 consecutive weeks.
• There was an initial plan to film Series 2 and 3 simultaneously. However, the idea was nixed for budgetary reasons. Apparently, SJA receives the bulk of its funding from the CBBC, rather than the BBC, and there ultimately wasn't enough money in their 2008 budget for advance filming on a series that could potentially be broadcast as late as 2010. Technically, this now means that Series 3 could now potentially be withdrawn from production, although many see it as unlikely that the CBBC would axe their top ratings-earner while the principal talent is still willing to perform.

The long awaited news of Doctor Who being available for purchase via Apple iTunes store has finally come. For the first time starting today, Doctor Who is available to download on iTunes in the US. Currently, the selection is limited to the 2005, 2006, and 2007 series. We can speculate that the 2008 series (AKA "Series 4") will become available after they have been shown on BBC America.

United Fan Con (UFC) along with fans already planning on attending the now cancelled JumpCon Boston event this weekend (18-20 July 2008) are coming together to create a mini fan event in its place. Since fans were already planning on being in Boston, they rallied together to create a mini fan convention after discussing the situation on an online forum. UFC, a small not-for-profit fan-run group located in Randolph, MA has been producing fan-run events in Massachusetts for the past 17 years is helping make it happen by giving funds to rent space at a new venue and use any and all equipment and supplies needed to host this event. UFC is also contacting actors, agents, and vendors in hopes in making this an exciting weekend.

We regret to inform you that Doctor Who: Podshock will not be appearing live on stage this weekend at JumpCon Boston as previously announced. The reason being is as some of our listeners and visitors here on our site already know, the JumpCon Boston event has been cancelled as of yesterday.
We, like many of our listeners and fellow Ambassadors here at the Gallifreyan Embassy were looking forward to the live show and the convention itself kicking off the JumpCon tour in Boston, MA. We do apologize for this late notice, but the cancellation of the convention had just occurred yesterday.
